...Bookhou Felty...

Finding good looking, modern kid's furniture is always a challenge. Bookhou makes this very cute 'Felt Chair' (what is it with me & grey felt?) made from bent ash and a cozy layer of industrial felt. Well priced at around $170~ I kind of wish they made a larger version for me! Check out the rest of their line of crafty handmade home accessories.

...Don't Hate on my Shine...

Brilliant 'Periodic Table' from Council features chunky blocks of wood and a coat of pure silver that creates a stunning reflective effect while still letting the beauty of the wood shine through. I love the mixture of bleached, raw, organic chunks of wood and the polished, sleek look of the silver surface. Not exactly a steal @ $42,000~ start saving now!

...Anthropologie...

I love this desk! It delicately balances clean, modern lines with a simple hand-forged steel frame with vintage looking alder wood drawers that seem to float below the textured glass surface. This desk is everything vintage modern should be and packs a big design punch in a small package. I couldn't believe it was from Anthropologie! $1298. I'm already trying to fit it into my apartment in my head...

...Chaos/Order...
The Quad bookshelf ($1700) seems to capture my personal lifestyle philosophy-- delicately balanced, organized chaos. Grouped in multiples of 2 or 3, they would be quite a statement.

...Light Drizzles for a Drizzly Day...

A beautiful Light Drizzle Chandelier and Snooze Lounge Chair (which is exactly what I would like to be doing on a rainy day like this...) from Ochre. On top of all that, a very nice photo-- I love the muted colors. Makes me want to light a fire and drink some tea.

...Concrete Mentality...

Chicago designer, Jan Jander's collection of cast-concrete furniture began as an grad school architecture project and morphed into a line of modern furnishings and light fixtures with a cool industrial, but organic touch. Chairs and benches boast custom molded seats that conform to the clients own behind! Each piece is custom made, hand-mixed, hand-poured, and comes stamped with the designers name in braille.

...Twentieth...
Dope chairs from one of my favorite showrooms in Los Angeles, Twentieth (8057 Beverly Blvd., LA 90048). They specialize in the kind of funky, irreverent design that makes me LOVE DESIGN. Their showroom is divided into vintage and modern, and they even carry art that I seriously considered buying as a proper begining to my (hopefully large and fabulous) future art collection.
Tilt Easy Armchair
Smoke Chair
Strada Chair
Otto Lounge Chair
I was also surprised to see that that carry Schindler chairs like the Sling chair below.
Definately worth a peek!
